EFTA has concluded bilateral agreements with the following countries – including dependent areas – and blocs: trade agreements are usually unilateral, bilateral or multilateral. The preface (other languages), published in November 2020 by Sabine Weyand, Director-General of DG Trade, provides an overview of the successes achieved in 2019 and the ongoing work for the EU`s 36 main preferential trade agreements. The working document attached by the Commission services contains detailed information under the trade and partner agreements. The Eurasian Economic Union, composed of Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Armenia and Kyrgyzstan, has concluded the following free trade agreements, see below. The Doha Round would have been the world`s largest trade deal if the US and the EU had agreed to cut their agricultural subsidies. After its failure, China gained ground in the global economy by adopting profitable bilateral agreements with countries in Asia, Africa and Latin America. List of negotiated agreements. Agreements that, until now, are only discussed without the formal action of the parties concerned, are not mentioned. The United States has signed bilateral trade agreements with 20 countries, including Israel, Jordan, Australia, Chile, Singapore, Bahrain, Morocco, Oman, Peru, Panama, and Colombia. The API is a treaty that aims to prevent the introduction and spread of organisms harmful to plants and plant products and currently has 177 government beneficiaries.
IpPC has developed phytosanitary policies and serves as both a financial intelligence unit and a source of information. Seven regional plant protection organizations have been established under the auspices of the IPPC. The North American Plant Protection Organization (NAPPO) is composed, for example, of the United States, Canada and Mexico, which participate respectively through APHIS, the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) or Plant`s Director of Health. The European and Mediterranean Plant Protection Organisation (EPPO) is an intergovernmental organisation, also within the framework of the IPPC, responsible for cooperation in the field of plant health between 50 countries in Europe and the Mediterranean. Trade agreements that the WTO refers to as preferential are also called regional “RTAs”, although they are not necessarily concluded by countries in a given region. As of July 2007, 205 agreements are currently in force. More than 300 have been notified to the WTO. The number of free trade agreements has increased considerably over the past decade.
